Research-Based Intelligibility Challenges and Techniques: Teaching Pronunciation to Chinese Learners

In this session, practical and adaptable techniques will be presented for teaching pronunciation within the Five Step Communicative Framework (Celce-Murica et al., 2010) focusing on Chinese learners. Using related research as a foundation, the presenters will suggest prioritizing certain pronunciation features to increase learners’ intelligibility and better utilize classroom time.
