This high-energy session examines the powerful effects that exercise has on the brain. Pedagogical benefits are discussed and participants will practice six fun and effective exercises guaranteed to help ELLs enrich their attention and memory. Two academic-based activities are offered that focus on the benefits of exercise’s impact on learning.

Teaching College Writing: More on Instruction, Less on Correction
Writing instructors end up spending so much time marking and correcting local errors. If our job, as instructors, is to help our students become critical editors of their own work, we should spend more time and effort on instruction, helping our students recognize, analyze, and correct their own errors.
