Following the Thursday Opening Plenary, please join us as we welcome conference attendees and honor all of the volunteers who made this year’s conference possible. There will be a Soft Taco Bar with Carne Asada and Chicken Adobo (and a variety of other toppings), as well as chips and salsa and a complimentary drink. There will also be a no-host bar.

On Friday evening, networking dinner groups will be going to nearby restaurants. Please sign up in advance at the Hospitality Desk in the Grand Hall by 6:00pm on Friday to participate. Meet at the Hospitality Desk at 7:00 PM sharp to travel with your group to the restaurant. Individuals are responsible for their own expenses.

Passport to Prizes Drawing
In your conference bag, you’ll find your “Passport” on which to collect signatures from participating exhibitors. After collecting all of your signatures, turn in your “Passport” for a raffle ticket, between 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday in the Exhibit Hall (Grand Hall). The drawing will be held at 4:15 pm in the Exhibit Hall. Lots of prizes will be available, including a one-year CATESOL membership, a full makeover from a makeup artist, books, materials, and more! You must be present at the drawing in order to win.

Saturday Night Sizzle
This year’s sizzle is a Bollywood theme! Come dressed up in Bollywood fashion, get a henna tattoo from a professional henna artist, learn some Bollywood-style dance moves, and participate in a dance number. You can also come just to enjoy the company of your friends and colleagues or to meet new people! Coffee and mini desserts will be served, and there will be a no-host bar.

CATESOL Foundation Raffle
Near the end of the Saturday Night Sizzle, the CATESOL Foundation will have its famous raffle where you can win fabulous prizes, including brunch for two from Hotel del Coronado, a Trader Joe’s gift bag, tickets for the Pasadena Playhouse, gift certificates from Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks, tickets for the California Academy of Sciences, tickets for the Long Beach Symphony, and so much more! Place your raffle tickets in jars next to an item you hope to win. Winners must be present. Tickets for the raffle are available all day Friday and Saturday at the CATESOL Foundation table in the Exhibit Hall (Grand Hall). If you do not get a chance to purchase them beforehand, you can still get some before the event. Tickets are $1.00 each. Please see the CATESOL Foundation table for details. The raffle will take place near the end of the Saturday Night Sizzle.
