CATESOL 2016 has ended
Thank you for attending CATESOL 2016 in San Diego!

We appreciate your feedback, which we’ll use in planning 2017 in Santa Clara.

You can view the whole conference schedule by the day and also search for sessions and events by speaker, title, session type, level, and even room! Maps of the Town & Country and the Exhibit Hall are in the menu. You can create and save your personalized conference schedule by creating a free login in sched.org, but you do not need to create a login to use this site! This site - and uploaded materials - will remain available long after the conference.

I taught ESL for 36 years. My experience includes elementary, high school, and college. I spent the last 24 years of my career at Truman College, a city college of Chicago. I'm fluent in Spanish and have also worked as a bilingual teacher. My foreign experience includes one year in Mexico and one year in Puerto Rico. I also taught summer courses in the Soviet Union and Slovakia. I'm retired now and continue to work on new revisions of my textbook series, Grammar in Context, which was first published in 1986. My new (6th) edition came out this year. Several times a year, I present at TESOL conferences and/or colleges (professional development). The focus of my presentations is how to use exciting narratives to engage students in the process of learning grammar and how the teacher can use many other resources to bring the textbook to life. (You can get a copy of my presentation by clicking on the following link or copying and pasting it into the URL space on your browser.)
